Who am I?
My name is Dr Jeremy Tibble. I am a Specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology but maintain an interest as a general physician. I’ve been working as a Consultant at Brighton and Sussex University Hospital NHS Trust since 2002 and I see patients privately at the Montefiore and Nuffield hospitals in Brighton & Hove.

My professional interests
I completed my gastroenterology training in South Thames during which I undertook a three year MD research project on the use of biomarkers for intestinal inflammation. Since appointment as a Consultant I have regularly published in peer reviewed medical journals and presented abstracts at international meetings. I undertake collaborative research with a number of colleagues in the field of hepatology and gastroenterology and  act as a reviewer of submissions to medical journals and sit on medical advisory boards.

In 2005 I established the Sussex Hepatology Network which resulted in a hub-and-spoke provision of liver services across the South Coast from Hastings to Worthing. I am also the Clinical Lead for liver services at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust where we have set up a centre of excellence for the management of patients with hepatitis C with the aid of a dedicated team of clinical nurse specialists.

My personal interests
I’m a keen road cyclist and enjoy taking part in events at the weekend but you might see me cycling to work from my home in Little Horsted. I’m also learning to play the piano with my daughter, although am struggling to keep up with her!

• Bowel disease
• Cancer
• Crohn’s disease
• Diverticulitis
• Gall stones
• Hepatitis
• Hiatus hernia
• Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
• Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
• Jaundice
• Liver disease
• Polyps
• Pancreatic disease
• Reflux Oesophagitis
• Stomach and duodenal ulcers
• Ulcerative colitis

I provide a full range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures which you can read more about on the procedures page.

Sometimes treatment needs to be provided in collaboration with other medical experts, so I work closely with radiologists, upper and lower gastrointestinal surgeons and oncologists both locally and in tertiary centres to provide the best possible opinion and care for patients.
