Fibroscanning of the liver is used to assess scarring and fibrosis of the liver in a variety of liver conditions including alcohol related damage, fatty liver and inflammatory disorders.

The procedure is completely painless and requires no patient preparation.

Fibroscanning is similar to an ultrasound and uses wave signals to measure the stiffness of the liver.

You are required to lie on your back and raise your right arm. Jelly is applied to your skin and a probe pressed against the surface. The process is very quick and no recovery time is required.

Each of the above procedures will take place after an outpatient appointment with Jeremy Tibble. Here you will discuss all aspects of the procedure including aftercare and the various options available for pain management. This will also happen on the day of the procedure itself.
